Who is Behind Refocussing?
Dr Diane Divett, a Maori New Zealander, has graduated from Waikato University with a four year Bachelor of Education degree in Education and Sociology in 1975, and Diploma of Teaching. As well she has a Master of Education degree in counselling at the University of Auckland graduating with first class honors. This was followed by completing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), also at the University of Auckland.
Diane, working alongside her husband Hamish Divett (who also gained a social science degree in psychology) felt ‘called’ in 1987 to pioneer Christian City Church Auckland (formerly C.C.C. now C3). Together they pioneered and established C.C.C. and over 19 years grew the church to a congregation of about 1500. From 2006 they went on to plant and pioneer yet another church – which is simply called C¹ Church. This currently meets in the heart of Auckland at 24 Saint Benedicts Street, Newton (see c1 church.)
Diane and Hamish have been married for thirty four years and together they have been in the pastoral ministry for 30 years. They have two adult children Lisa and David. Lisa married to Dan have two beautiful children – Jozef and Amalia.
Conference speakers and teachers has led them to a huge variety of churches and contexts, nationally and internationally: including Kensington Temple in London; Christian City Church Oxford Falls in Sydney ; City Life Church – Mark Conner (formerly Waverly Christian Fellowship) in Melbourne; Jubilee Christian Center in San Jose.
They have enjoyed teaching in a wide variety of denominations, such as: Presbyterian, Salvation Army, Baptist, Assemblies of God, Elim, Apostolic, Independent, Roman Catholic and C3 Churches.
Hamish and Diane feel that it is really only now, armed with their academic knowledge, coupled with their thirty years of successful ministry experience that they are suitably qualified to make themselves more available to assist Pastors and leaders with any of the skills and expertise they have.
